Lactation Services

Initial consultations, typically can last ~90 minutes in length. Your personalized consult will include a comprehensive health history of both you and your baby. A pre and post feed weight check will be given, to better assess how well baby is transferring per feeding (this can include both bottle and or breastfeeding baby's). You and your baby will be observed during a feeding, and gently guided as needed. At the end of your visit you will be sent a personalized care plan. A superbill will be given for possible reimbursement from your insurance company.

Some breastfeeding concerns can be resolved in a single visit, but many benefit from ongoing support and updated care plans. We’re here to guide you every step of the way in your breastfeeding and pumping journey.
Typical follow up visits are ~1 hour in duration. During your consult your baby's feeding session will be observed, and a weighted feed will be determined. We will assess your progress and make any adjustments to your care plan as needed.
A superbill will be given for possible reimbursement from your insurance company.

This consult is perfect for parents who may be returning to work, exclusively pumping, or building a freezer stash. We’ll help you find your ideal pump settings, schedule, and techniques to maximize milk output, protect your supply & make pumping more comfortable and efficient.
At the end of your visit you will be sent a personalized care plan. A superbill will be given for possible reimbursement from your insurance company.

This consultation is supported by advanced continuing education in infant bottle feeding, bottle refusal, oral function, and evidence-based feeding strategies.
Bottle feeding consultations are designed for babies experiencing challenges such as bottle refusal, leaking milk during feeds, poor latch or seal, difficulty coordinating feeds, gagging, nipple flow concerns, colic, or other bottle feeding difficulties.
During your consultation, your infant will receive a comprehensive feeding assessment to help identify factors that may be contributing to bottle feeding difficulties, including oral function when appropriate. Following your visit, you will receive a personalized care plan tailored to your baby’s needs. A superbill will also be provided for possible insurance reimbursement.

An individualized introductory guided 1:1 to get you the guidance to a having a confident start to breastfeeding your little one. A typical prenatal appointment can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 60 minutes. You will be provided with a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement!

Telehealth visits are helpful to assist with any last minute struggles you may be having, until we are able to meet in-person & or any follow-up questions you may be having that do not require a hands on assessment. Virtual teleheath visits can vary in duration, ranging anywhere from ~30minutes to 60 minutes.

Specialized Bottle Feeding Training
Melyssa has completed advanced continuing education in infant bottle feeding, bottle refusal, oral function, and evidence-based feeding strategies. This specialized training enhances her ability to identify the underlying causes of bottle feeding challenges and provide individualized, compassionate support to help babies and families achieve more successful feeding experiences.

Self pay clients will be issued a superbill at the end of the consult, this superbill can be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
Under The Affordable Care Act (ACA) most private insurance plans are required to cover breastfeeding support, counseling, and equipment, including breast-pumps, as a preventative service without any cost-sharing.

While most insurance plans will cover lactation care, it is essential to ask your specific insurance provider the details of their coverage. Insurance providers can further inform you how to obtain an insurance covered breast pump, and the extent of lactation support available.
Lactation coverage usually begins before birth or shortly after you have delivered your baby.

Messages will be responded to during normal business hours. Messages will be responded to promptly, ideally within 24 hours or less.

A travel convenience fee of $50 will be charged for home visits exceeding past 25 miles from area code 29710.

A $50 cancellation fee will be applied if a cancellation notice is given in less than 24 hours notice of the appointment scheduled.
